| Besides being far from subjective, when he goes to people for an interview they seem to avoid him. Perhaps this is because of his style of sneak attack interviewing (Catching the person off guard and not scheduling first) is great for a P.I., but shady for a 'documentary' maker. It presents the viewer with an opinion that the person doesn't want to talk, but sometimes theycan't. Sometimes people are busy and on the go. Like I said....sometimes He also uses editing voices and splicing to create speeches and/or ads to fit his needs. explanation Perhaps the most exposed one is the Bush-Quayle campaign ad in which Mr. Moore. From Hardylaw: "Bowling splices together two different election ads, one run by the Bush campaign (featuring a revolving door, and not even mentioning Horton) and another run by an independent expenditure campaign (naming Horton, and showing footage from which it can be seen that he is black). At the end, the ad ala' Moore has the customary note that it was paid for by the Bush-Quayle campaign. Moore intones "whether you're a psychotic killer or running for president of the United States, the one thing you can always count on is white America's fear of the black man." There is nothing to reveal that most of the ad just seen (and all of it that was relevant to Moore's claim) was not the Bush-Quayle ad, which didn't even name Horton. Apparently unsatisfied with splicing the ads, Bowling's editors added a subtitle "Willie Horton released. Then kills again." Ben Fitz also noted that Bowling's editors didn't bother to research the events before doctoring the ads. Horton's second arrest was not for murder. (The second set of charges were aggravated assault and rape)."
To see the real ad please visit: this site (you will need real player) I, unlike Senor Moore, visited many different sites with many different viewpoints. I have also been burying my nose in some books and chatting on the phone/ e-mail (what's new!). No matter how you look at it- he is a self-righteous liar. Now for some bowling...... Michael Moore named titled the movie "Bowling For Columbine" because he suggests, the two kids who shot up Columbine High in Littleton, Colo., went to a 6 a.m. bowling class on the day of the attack. This had been reported by the media, but later dubunked. They had skipped class that day say the police. Michael Moore claims this is a down right lie. The police, many students, school records, and reports show otherwise. Perhaps the most deceptive is the scene where Moore solemnly pronounces that the plaque under it 'proudly proclaims that the plane killed Vietnamese people on Christmas Eve of 1972'...The plaque actually reads, 'Flying out of Utapao Royal Thai Naval Airfield in southeast Thailand, the crew of "Diamond Lil" shot down a MIG northeast of Hanoi during "Linebacker II" action on Christmas eve 1972.' Moore's response: "I was making a point about the carpet bombing of Vietnam during the 1972 Christmas offensive. I did not say exactly what the plaque said but was paraphrasing." Quite a paraphrase! lol. In a cute/funny cartoon Michael Moore paints the idea that our violence now is based on our fear then. It begins with the Pilgrims running in fear from the English persecution. Actually Mike, they were being persecuted. King James gave an ordinance saying those who would not convert to the church of England would be killed. They were also paying taxes to the very 'church' that was killing them. The narration says "they were greeted by savages." You then see them shooting all the Natives. He says "you'd think killing an entire race of people would calm 'em down". I understand that maybe the narration was implying they killed a lot of them, I could understand that- if it were true. The truth is Pilgrims did not meet the Natives until sometime after the arrival of The Mayflower. Thanks to a treaty the Pilgrims and the Natives never shed any blood of one-another. In fact, they were allies. Next clip is "They started getting frightened of each other, SO - they burned witches" Actually that only happened in Europe. Not a single recorded burning had ever been reported in this continent. They were hanged. Also, these were the Puritans that did this - not the Pilgrims. Later on in this clip he displays a partnership between the NRA and the KKK. He says that in 1871, the same year the Klan became an illegal terrorist organization, the NRA was formed. That is true, yet presented misleadingly.... The NRA was formed in 1871 by act of The NY Legislature. It had been asked to be formed by former Union officers. The NRA made it illegal people to interfere with the civil rights of people. One of such right- the right to bear arms. It also denied the KKK the right to habeus corpus Mike says the NRA made it illegal for blacks to own guns. Not even close. 1871's KKK act made it illegal for anyone to interfere with civil rights. Grant signed the bill and used it to make 5,000 arrest for "[attempting] to deprive colored citizens right to bear arms and the right to a free ballot." Grant was praised by the great Frederick Douglas. ....Should I go on. Mike's new book "Stupid White Men" is written by just that.....a stupid white man. Long fell yet another one of my heroes. :'(
Since their comment on Waco, I don't like the NRA. I do not endorse them, but support the 2nd amendment. |
